Brackets |
<!ELEMENT brackets EMPTY> |
Element brackets describes the type of brackets to create a staff group. Typical examples are the curly bracket used for piano and harp or the symbols used to embrace instrumental groups (e.g. strings) in an orchestral score. Brackets are expressed through a couple of instances (see the attribute marker), in order to embrace all the staves listed inside. In other words, if a number of staves should be grouped by a single bracket, the format requires a start element brackets (marker="start_of_staff_group"), then a number of staff elements, and finally an end element brackets (marker="end_of_staff_group"), whose group_number is the same of the first element. Obviously, this approach allows inclusion of the same staff in many group.
Attributes
- marker, a mandatory attribute to identify if the group is starting or ending here.
- group_number, a mandatory attribute to identify univocally the instance of brackets to open/close .
- shape, the graphical symbol to employ. Please note that also invisible brackets are supported.
