Element csound_instance contains information about a Csound encoding of either the piece or one of its parts. A Csound document is usually defined by two digital objects in plain-text format: a .SCO file, containing the score, and a .ORC file, containing information about the synthesized instruments.
As an alternative, a single .CSD file (in an XML-based format) can be employed to encode both the score and the orchestra. In this case, sub-elements csound_score and csound_orchestra will point to the same .CSD file.
