Element mpeg4_instrument_mapping is for mapping instruments in a MPEG orchestra file to score entities defined in Logic layer. This approach, where two sub-elements are employed, allows performance of one or many parts with the current instrument (mpeg4_part_ref sub-element) or single notes (mpeg4_spine_ref sub-element).
Attributes
- instrument_name, a mandatory attribute to identify the instrument according to SAOL conventions.
- start_line, an optional attribute which contains the number of the first line in a SAOL file where the instrument is defined.
- end_line, an optional attribute which contains the number of the last line in a SAOL file where the instrument is defined.
- pnml_file, an optional attribute that allows to link a PNML file to describe the instrument in terms of Petri Nets. The path can be either absolute (e.g. "C:\Documents\PetriNets\net1.pnml") or relative (e.g. "PetriNets\net1.pnml"), and either local (e.g. "C:\Documents\PetriNets\net1.pnml") or remote (e.g. "http://www.unimi.it/PetriNets/net1.pnml"). Attribute pnml_file should respect the syntax rules to be supported by different operating systems (including case sensitivity).
