Pitch

Element pitch encodes the pitch of the current notehead. Thanks to its attributes, a computer program should be able to determine completely how the note sounds..

Attributes

step, a mandatory attribute to provide a name for the notehead, according to letter names.
octave, a mandatory attribute to provide octave information. Conventionally, the central octave is the fifth one.
actual_accidental, an optional attribute which encodes the real inflecting of a note. If a pitch has an accidental (because of an explicit sign, of a previously altered note of the same pitch, of the current key signature), this attribute must take it into account.
