Structural

Structural layer contains the explicit description of music objects and of their causal relationships, from both the compositional and musicological point of view. In other words, this layer is used for identification of music objects as aggregations of music events, and it defines how music objects can be described as a transformation of objects previously described.
Thus it is neither a timed nor a physically ordered description. The information within this layer does neither contain explicit descriptions of time sorting nor any absolute timing of music events. As usual, event localization in time and in space is realized by spine references.
Structural layer is subdivided into four main sections: chord_grid, analysis, petri_nets, and mir, corresponding to different kinds of analysis (see below).
