Element trill is used to encode trills. Trill is a musical ornament consisting of a rapid alternation between two adjacent notes of a scale.
Attributes
- id, an optional attribute that provides a unique identification for the symbol.
- event_ref, a mandatory attribute that identifies the spine event of the music symbol to which the ornament is applied.
- accidental, an attribute to modify chromatically the added note by an accidental, graphically represented by a small symbol over the trill.
- style, an optional attribute to define the shape to use, according to the figure of below.
- start_hook and end_hook, attributes used to encode particular signs used above all in the Baroque period. In the Klavierbüchlein für Wilhelm Friedemann Bach, Johann Sebastian Bach lists a number of these signs, together with the correct way to interpret them.
