Element turn is used to encode turns. Such ornament is a short figure consisting of the note above the one indicated, the note itself, the note below the one indicated, and the note itself again. It is marked by a mirrored S-shape lying on its side above the staff. The details of its execution depend in part on the exact placement of the turn mark.
Attributes
- id, an optional attribute that provides a unique identification for the symbol.
- event_ref, a mandatory attribute that identifies the spine event of the music symbol to which the ornament is applied.
- type, a mandatory attribute that defines the position of the ornament with respect to the spine event.
- style, an optional attribute to define the shape to use, according to the figure of below.
- upper_accidental and lower_accidental, two attributes to modify chromatically the upper and lower notes of the ornament.
