Logic layer faces music description from
a symbolic point of view.
Logic layer represents the core of the IEEE 1599 format: it contains
i) the main time-space construct for localization and synchronization
of music events, ii) the description of the score from a symbolic
standpoint, and iii) information about a generic graphical implementation
of symbolic contents. As a consequence, the inner structure of logic
element is made of three sub-elements, namely spine,
los (standing for Logically Organized
Symbols), and finally layout. Please
note that only spine is strictly required, so that also IEEE 1599 supports
music without symbolic contents (according to standard CWN definition).
