Alphabetic list of elements (v1.0)

Element notation_instance_group is a container for a number of notation_instance elements. This lets a score be divided into a number of independent notation-oriented files; element notation_instance_group provides a way to keep united the files related to the same score.

Attributes

• description, an optional attribute to provide a textual description of the instance.
• position_in_group, a mandatory attribute which allows the numbering of the sub-parts within the group (see notation_instance_group).
• file_name, the complete path to identify the digital object. The path can be either absolute (e.g. "C:\Documents\files\score1.mus") or relative (e.g. "files\ score1.mus"), and either local (e.g. "C:\Documents\files\ score1.mus") or remote (e.g. "http://www.unimi.it/ score1.mus"). Attribute file_name should respect the syntax rules to be supported by different operating systems (including case sensitivity).
• format, which provides the encoding format of the file. Formats should be similar to the corresponding MIME media type, where media type name (e.g. "application") and subtype name (e.g. "mus") are separated by an _ (underscore) character (e.g. "application_mus").
• measurement_unit, a mandatory attribute to fix the measurement unit used in notation_event sub-element.
